Hobart City Walk: Perfect Stroll for Apple Enthusiasts and Tech Lovers
Tasmania, the farthest island from the Australian mainland, stands as a solitary state, exuding a unique sense of solitude and independence.

I first visited many years ago during the winter. Perhaps it was the hurried nature of the group tour or the off-season, but I felt an overwhelming desolation. The kind of desolation that could make one’s eyes well up with tears if they had to live there [Laughing with tears R]

This second visit, by self-driving, has truly transformed my perception. Despite its sparse population and serene atmosphere, I discovered it’s perfect for travelers who prefer to avoid crowds. After acclimating to the tranquility and unhurried pace, one might even consider retiring here [Laughing R]

🏙️ Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, feels a bit more vibrant than I remember, though it remains modest in size compared to bustling cities like Sydney and Melbourne. Tasmanians, however, are content with their natural, peaceful, and non-competitive lifestyle. In fact, isn’t this the dream for many?

Wandering through the city center, I marveled at the historic architecture and realized that Hobart is Australia’s second oldest city after Sydney. The overcast weather added a cool, vintage charm that I found particularly appealing. It’s truly a haven for introverts!

⛵️ My favorite spot in Hobart is undoubtedly the dock. Finding a cozy restaurant, savoring a seafood feast, and enjoying a glass of wine while gazing at the picturesque harbor scenery—this is the perfect way to spend an afternoon or evening. Here, time seems to stand still, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the moment.

🦞 This time, I dined at Mures Upper Deck, which offers a delightful ambiance and excellent lobster dishes. If you’re not looking for something overly fancy, this is a great choice. Just a stone’s throw away is the famous Van Diemens Land Creamery, where the ice cream is absolutely delicious! I visited two days in a row, trying several unique flavors. I highly recommend the pepperberry & leatherwood honey—it’s a must-try!

🏨 Staying at the Crown Plaza in the city center was incredibly convenient for exploring and dining. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a fantastic view. The only potential downside is that the bar downstairs can get a bit noisy if it stays open late.

To be honest, I didn’t have high expectations before visiting Hobart, thinking there wouldn’t be much to see. This second visit has completely changed my mind. I often find myself reminiscing about those leisurely moments in the restaurant, feeling a deep sense of joy and longing 🌟
