Visit the Art Gallery of Western Australia, which offers free admission, and then make a quick stop at the quaint Museum of Perth. Hop on the cat bus to The University of Western Australia, where the serene campus might surprise you with peacocks if you’re lucky! Don’t miss the iconic Blue Boat House, famously featured in Jay Chou’s music video.

End your day with a hike in Kings Park, a vast green space. Near the State War Memorial, catch the sunset and savor the refreshing sea breeze.

Day 2: Rottnest Island Adventure
Venture to Rottnest Island to meet the adorable and smiling quokkas. Although the ferry ticket is a bit pricey, the experience is absolutely worth it! (For a detailed guide, check out our homepage.)

Day 3: Exploring Perth’s Surroundings
1. Mandurah: Watch dolphins play and find the giant statue. The Perth DayRider ticket includes the train fare to Mandurah, making it an affordable option.
2. Fremantle: Explore the vibrant Fremantle Markets, visit the historic Round House, and tour the eerie Fremantle Prison.

Note that the markets are not open every day, so be sure to check the schedule in advance. Inside, you’ll find a variety of local delicacies and unique handicrafts.
3. Cottesloe Beach: Enjoy a stunning sunset by the seaside and take the opportunity to snorkel in the clear waters.

Day 4: Nature and Culture in Perth
Begin your day at Caversham Wildlife Park, where you can see incredibly cute koalas. If your budget allows, you can even hold a koala for $35. Check the last picture for daily activities in the park. Continue to Whiteman Park, and then head to Swan Valley for a delightful wine tasting experience. Savor the red wines and soak in the picturesque countryside scenery.

Summary:
This trip offers a perfect blend of natural and cultural experiences in Perth. From adorable animals on land, sea, and air, to beautiful coastlines, bustling city centers, tranquil campuses, and art-filled galleries, there’s something for everyone. The unique countryside scenery and panoramic views from the hilltops are truly breathtaking.

The locals here know how to relax and are exceptionally friendly, but be prepared for high prices. During my stay, I mainly survived on bread and instant noodles, and my accommodation was quite unpredictable. However, if your budget permits, consider driving to explore the natural wonders around Perth, such as the Pinnacles, Pink Lake, and Margaret River.

The natural beauty of Western Australia is truly a highlight.

This itinerary looks perfect for someone like me who’s short on time but wants to see the highlights! I especially love the idea of starting with Heirisson Island for some wildlife spotting—it sounds magical. Do you have any tips for finding good food spots along this route?

Absolutely! For great food spots, start at Elizabeth Quay for trendy cafes and restaurants. Northbridge is another must-visit for local street food and multicultural eateries. Don’t miss out on trying some authentic Aussie meat pies—you can find them in most bakeries. Hope these tips help, and enjoy your adventure!
