▶️ East of the Town on Route 27
Journey east on Route 27 towards the highland desert, leading to Bolivia and Argentina. Marvel at the spectacular views from M Volcán Licancabur, M Quebrada Quepiaco, M Salar de Pujsa, M Pacana Caldera, and M Salar de Loyoques.
The vistas here are truly breathtaking.

▶️ Southwest of the Town on B241
For a wild and unmanaged experience, head southwest on B241. Discover the small valley Vallecito, the iconic Magic Bus Atacama, M Achaches, tire tracks, and the unique desert Danxia landform.
This route offers a more rugged and free-spirited adventure.
❗️ With numerous sunrise and sunset spots, it’s best to be flexible and go with the flow. Travel agencies are located on the main street Caracoles and the central square, where cash payments often come with a 10% discount.
❗️ Star-gazing tours have a high cancellation rate, so consider driving to a secluded spot to photograph the Milky Way.
