How to Explore Santiago, Chile in Half a Day on a Budget: Best Route & Tips
Santiago stands out as the most developed city in South America, a bustling metropolis that seamlessly blends modernity with rich cultural heritage. I spent a day there as a stopover and found it to be just enough to get a taste of its vibrant atmosphere! You can easily cover the main sights in half a day, making it a perfect quick getaway.

The street art adorning the walls is truly captivating, and the local restaurants offer a delightful culinary experience. However, it’s essential to keep your phone safely tucked away in your bag! Locals repeatedly warned me that holding it in your hand might make you a target for pickpockets. Especially in tourist-heavy areas, staying vigilant and aware of your surroundings is crucial.

Our route took us through some of the city’s most iconic and charming spots: we started at the historic Plaza de Armas, then strolled to the majestic Fuente Neptuno, explored the trendy Barrio Lastarria, and finally ended our journey at the lively Patio Bellavista. The entire route is walkable, and every step is filled with fun and picturesque moments.
