How to Explore Santiago in One Day: Best Budget Walks & Local Eats
I checked into the W Hotel, nestled right in the heart of the city.

After settling in and dropping off my luggage, I made my way to the nearby Sky Costanera, the tallest building in South America. From the observation deck on the 62nd floor (P4), the view was nothing short of spectacular. The towering Cerro El Plomo, reaching an impressive 5,434 meters, pierced the clouds, creating a breathtaking panorama that left me in awe.

Next, I hopped on the small cable car from the Oasis station, ascending the mountain with a sense of adventure. As I savored a delicious fruit bar and indulged in some of the creamiest gelato I’ve ever had, the views of the snow-capped peaks, lush greenery, and the sprawling city below were simply mesmerizing. The gelato, packed tightly and densely by the skilled hands of the vendor (P1-P3), was a delightful treat that perfectly complemented the scenic journey.

With my laptop in tow, I descended the mountain and found a cozy work café. The space was modern, stylish, and filled with natural light, making it an ideal spot to dive back into my work. After a productive session, I explored the city’s vibrant cultural scene, visiting various museums and art palaces.

The modern art museum, with its collection of abstract works, exuded a solemn and elegant atmosphere, reminiscent of the Age of Sail. Although the collections may not be as extensive as those in Mexico or Colombia, they still offered a unique and captivating experience.
