This year, during the holiday from November 1st to 3rd, I decided to break away from the usual trend of visiting popular southern cities. Instead, I opted for the serene and charming Pichilemu, a hidden gem often cherished by locals.

Nestled on a small hill, this tranquil town is just a stone’s throw from the coastline. I am so glad I made this choice; even traveling solo, I felt an overwhelming sense of emotion and connection.

For the first time, I experienced a profound joy that brought tears to my eyes: it was during the Spring Festival and the Jaipa Festival, where I witnessed the entire community gathered at street corners, watching the parade as the sun set. Laughter filled the air, genuine and heartfelt, and in that moment, all the past struggles seemed worth it.

Here, there are no bustling crowds, and you rarely come across other Chinese visitors. The absence of honking cars and the unavailability of Uber means you have to hail a taxi the old-fashioned way. The streets are safe, with almost no petty crime, and I wandered around, phone in hand, chatting away (though I wouldn’t recommend imitating me [Laughing R][Laughing R]).

Every home in Pichilemu is adorned with blooming flowers, basking in the bright sunlight. The streets are clean and clear, and friendly, large dogs roam freely.

1🚗 To get here, you can take the Transantin bus directly from Santiago, which takes about three and a half hours. The route winds through lush forests 🌳 and rolling grasslands, offering breathtaking views along the way.

2🏠 For accommodation, I highly recommend staying in the city center. It’s conveniently located, just a ten-minute walk to the beach park. If you’re lucky, you might even find a room with a stunning ocean view. By the way, Pichilemu is also a renowned surfing spot in Chile! You’ll see many young people in bikinis, or romantically kissing on the beach 🌹.

When you’re near the sea 🌊 and everything around you is silent, you can truly feel the freedom of the wind whistling in your ears.

3🚶 I suggest walking the entire coastline, starting from Parque Ross, passing through Playa Inferior, and ending at Punta de Lobos (the most beautiful beach 🏖️). The whole walk takes about an hour, so don’t forget to apply sunscreen!
4🏜️ If you want to explore the local market or enjoy the beach 🏝️, Playa Principal is a fantastic choice! Along the coastline, you’ll find shops selling souvenirs and even surfboards 🛹.
5☺️ If you visit at this time every year, you’ll be treated to parades and evening parties. The atmosphere is electric, and the experience is truly unforgettable!
Anyway, 🥰 Pichilemu has become my dream destination [Wow R][Wow R].
