A once-in-a-lifetime, godlike flight deal has just emerged. For the entire year of 2025, there is only one such opportunity: a chartered flight by Air Tahiti Nui, offering a round trip from Tokyo to Tahiti and Easter Island (see pages 3-4 for more details). You will need to arrange your own round-trip flights between your home country and Tokyo.
This route is exceptionally unique, connecting two of the world’s most enchanting islands, Tahiti and Easter Island, both of which are dream destinations for many.
Typically, reaching Easter Island requires a transit through Santiago, the capital of Chile. This journey is not only time-consuming—often more so than traveling to Antarctica—but also extremely expensive, with ticket prices typically ranging from 1.5 to 2 times higher. The route is dominated by LAN Chile.

The existence of this flight deal is thanks to a travel agency from a third country that chartered the flight and, to mitigate risks, allocated some seats to the Chinese market. I recently attended a roadshow in China hosted by the Tahiti Tourism Board, where a friend from Air Tahiti Nui introduced this chartered flight.
Despite being half-asleep during the presentation, I instantly perked up when I heard about this ticket. Anyone familiar with Easter Island knows how challenging it is to get there. There are no direct flights between Tahiti and Easter Island, and this chartered flight is the sole option for the entire year of 2025.
While the ticket itself is not cheap, its rarity, the allure of the destinations, and the time saved make it a worthwhile investment. If you haven’t visited Tahiti before, a 6-night stay in Tahiti and a 3-night stay on Easter Island would be ideal. You could spend 3 nights in Bora Bora and 2 nights on the nearby island of Taha’a, creating an unforgettable experience.
For this trip, you will need a visa for French Polynesia, a visa for Chile (group visas can be arranged for groups of five or more, and those with a U.S. visa are exempt), and a Japanese visa (a multiple-entry visa is more convenient).
The only downside is that this route is best suited for those who are truly passionate about top-tier islands. If you start with Tahiti and Easter Island, you might find that no other island on this blue planet can impress you again, and the withdrawal period might last a lifetime.
