After a five-hour flight from Chile, I landed on an enchanting island swathed in a lush, velvety carpet of green grass. The breathtaking 360-degree vistas are so picturesque, they could easily be mistaken for desktop wallpapers. Signal is a rare luxury, found only on the main street, adding to the island’s remote charm.

Most accommodations, including hotels and guesthouses, embrace the natural climate without air conditioning. At my cozy guesthouse, the door lock is a bit temperamental, and the hot water can be unpredictable, but these minor inconveniences are overshadowed by the delightful presence of numerous adorable dogs that roam the area.
