After Sanmao and Jose moved away from the Sahara Desert, they went to the island of Gran Canaria across the sea, which was more developed than the Sahara. They lived in the small town of Telde.

🏝️【Beautiful Island】
◾️This is a low-key beautiful treasure island with a spring-like climate all year round, warm in winter and cool in summer, with endless natural scenery.
◾️The island has many flowers and trees, white houses, colorful houses, large windmills, canyons, volcanic sites, desert forests, and countless boats docked by the seaside.

The island is surrounded by the azure Atlantic Ocean, with beautiful beaches where you can walk on the sand, sunbathe, and enjoy the sunset over the sea at dusk.

“Our home is perched on top of a sloping hill. From the large glass window in front, you can see a string of little white houses scattered on a green mountain range, stretching down to the sea.”

🏘️【Sanmao’s Home】
Sanmao and Jose’s former house is located on a small hill. Currently, it is occupied by Miko and Juan, the characters from Sanmao’s writings. That day, I happened to meet Miko and Juan returning from shopping, we greeted each other and took a photo together. I didn’t disturb them too much.

Looking through the fence, tall, lush palm trees can be seen towering over the walls. The courtyard is quiet, and there is a picture of Sanmao and Jose on the outer wall, briefly introducing the Chinese female writer, Sanmao Echo Chen.

⚠️Sanmao’s former residence is now a private residence and not open to the public. Please observe from the outside and try not to disturb them. I just happened to meet them coming home that day, exchanged greetings, took a photo, and then left without further disturbance.
