✈️ For the best deals, it’s advisable to book your tickets well in advance. 🏨 Matariki Sunset (130k) is a fantastic choice for accommodation, as it’s just a stone’s throw from both the seaside and the town center. 🚗 Instead of hailing a taxi, I opted for a vintage manual car from Ocenic, which cost 70k per day and added a unique charm to our adventure.
🥘 The culinary experience was delightful, especially at the seaside restaurants with stunning views. Easter Island is renowned for its tuna, so any dish featuring this fish—whether ceviche, carpaccio, tartar, or grilled—is a must-try. Highly recommended spots include Kanahau, Taha Tai, Neptuno, Polynesian Coffee Sunset Bar, and Tataku Vave.
🌟 Activities:
🗿 We split our sightseeing into two days. On the first day, we drove to various free attractions, and on the second, we joined a semi-private tour (four people) that took us to five sites requiring a guide (quarry, 15-day tour, 7-person group, birdman village, crater, 70k per person).

🐎 A highlight was the horseback ride to Terevaka, the island’s highest point, to catch the sunset (50$ per person). This unforgettable experience is highly recommended! See image 13 on WhatsApp for more.
🌄 We also booked a 15-day sunrise tour through Denomades (35k per person), which was a breathtaking experience.
Watching the sunset at Ahu Tahai is free and equally mesmerizing.
⛰️ Exploring the caves was another thrilling activity. We hired the same guide for a private tour to visit Ana Te Pahu and Ana Kakenga (70k per person). The journey was incredibly fun, though the two-hour hike under the scorching sun between the caves was quite challenging.
💃 The KariKari performance is a must-see, and I highly recommend buying the first-row ticket with dinner (90k per person). The food was exquisite, and sitting in the front row gave us the chance to join in the dance. More details are shared in another post.
📷 We missed out on taking photos in traditional costume with the moai, which would have been around 40k per person.
⛵️ Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to go on the boat trip to see the underwater moai.
