Before my trip, I stumbled upon a few online complaints suggesting that Easter Island is nothing but a dull collection of stones. However, after visiting, I found it to be incredibly enchanting! The weather here plays a crucial role in the color and character of the sea. On my first day, as I drove around, the seawater seemed rather unremarkable, almost below average.

But on the second day, when the sun broke through, the ocean transformed into a stunning shade of blue, with mesmerizing gradations and a jelly-like translucence. I’ve seen beautiful seas before, but the dramatic contrast left me in awe. This experience underscored the importance of considering the season and weather when planning a trip; different conditions can lead to vastly different experiences.

Easter Island is brimming with breathtaking spots, from the majestic crater to the charming accommodations and the picturesque views along every route. The entire island is a treasure trove of discovery, and no amount of photos could do it justice. I spent three full days there and felt that an extra day would have been perfect, making it a four-day stay.

Any longer, and I might have just relaxed and taken it easy, but those four days would have been the sweet spot for exploration and relaxation.
