Where to Find the Best Street Art in Santiago, Chile This Summer?
My final destination in South America was Santiago, Chile. After two months of non-stop travel, I was feeling a bit weary, and as a backpacker lacking the proper outdoor gear, I couldn’t fully immerse myself in the natural wonders.

Santiago was my last stop, and I must admit, I didn’t have high hopes for Chile. Most of the information I had come across highlighted its stunning natural beauty, but I knew very little about its urban charms.

To my delight, Santiago greeted me with an unexpected surprise. Just after arriving, I stumbled upon a record store on the street where I found an album by one of my favorite bands. The city was also dotted with charming used bookstores, and I even discovered a toy store that had been in business for forty years.

The owner of the toy store was a fascinating character. Sensing my enthusiasm, he locked up the shop and led me to his private collection in the basement. He shared stories about the vintage sign from four decades ago and the treasures he had collected over a lifetime…

The ultimate highlight, however, was the massive flea market at Persa Santa Rosa on the weekend. Stretching along a long, bustling street, the market was a treasure trove of old maps, vintage magazines, art books, CDs, vinyl records, DVDs, all sorts of nostalgic toys, and antique furniture. It was an absolute must-visit, and the vibrant atmosphere was simply enchanting.

This experience in Santiago was undoubtedly the cultural and artistic highlight of my South American journey (I didn’t make it to Argentina or Brazil)!!!! I couldn’t help but exclaim with joy.
