Bali Cliff Highway Road Cycling Experience: Scenic Routes & Adventure Tours π΄π»ββοΈπ΄π½
This time in Bali, we decided to explore the Uluwatu area on road bikes. We rented high-quality bikes and hired a knowledgeable guide to lead us through the adventure. For more details, keep scrolling! We booked this trip two months in advance and worked closely with our guide to tailor the route to our preferences. While the guide offered to provide essentials like water and hats, we brought our own, so we didn’t need his supplies.

π£οΈ Image 3 shows our cycling route:
We started at 6 AM from our Uluwatu hotel, heading towards the Denpasar airport road, then to Nusa Dua, and finally to Pantai Pandawa before returning to the hotel.
βπ» The total distance was approximately 47.3 km, with an elevation gain of 613 meters, and we completed it in about 3 hours.

π Cycling Experience:
I would rate this route as moderately challenging. If you regularly ride a road bike and have tackled similar elevation gains, you should feel confident.π However, if you are a beginner or lack experience with road biking, I would not recommend this route. π

π Road Conditions:
Compared to Malaysia, the road conditions in Bali were decent, but we had to be cautious of motorcycles. With our guide leading the way, we felt very secure. The locals were considerate and often slowed down to give us space when they saw the guide in front.
β°οΈ The hills in Uluwatu are steep and long, making the ride quite strenuous.

Since it wasn’t my own bicycle, I found it a bit uncomfortable. Descending the hills required extra caution; the slopes were long and steep, and vehicles behind us moved quickly. There were many S-turns, and I almost crashed at one particularly narrow and steep turn where an oncoming vehicle was speeding towards me.

Thankfully, I managed to regain control just in time. ππ»

π Scenic Impressions:
Pantai Pandawa and the cliff roads are must-see destinations! The views are breathtaking, absolutely stunning. Gazing out over the ocean from the cliffs, watching the waves roll in, and taking in the vistas after conquering those hills, the experience is truly amazing and completely different from driving.

On the way, we also passed through Nusa Dua, which has a very peaceful and quiet road. We even got to see some beautiful international hotels. If you enjoy mountain climbing, this route will definitely appeal to you! It’s incredibly challenging and rewarding. π
