Bromo Volcano Photography Tips: Capture Stunning Shots Without Issues

Finally, I had the incredible opportunity to capture some truly life-changing photos at Bromo! Since I noticed there weren’t many detailed posts about the best photo spots, I decided to share my experience to help everyone get those perfect shots [doge]

To start, head up to the mountain top viewing platform as early as 4 or 5 in the morning. The earlier you arrive, the better your chances of securing a front-row spot. This is ideal for when the sun rises and the golden light illuminates your side profile (as shown in pic 2) – it’s absolutely breathtaking.

After capturing the sunrise, make your way to the right side of the viewing platform where you’ll find a charming, crooked tree. This spot is perfect for portrait mode shots (pics 5, 6, 7), with the stunning sunrise over Bromo as your backdrop, creating an incredibly beautiful scene.

Once you’ve explored the viewing platform, venture over to the edge of the crater to witness the smoking volcano. When you reach the top, turn right and walk to the end of the railing. Here, you can sit on the edge of the crater for some dramatic photos. Definitely use a 0.5 wide-angle lens and shoot from above! This technique allows you to capture both a full-body portrait and the mesmerizing smoking crater (as shown in pics 3 and 4).

Lastly, don’t forget to take a photo with the jeep. I highly recommend choosing a brightly colored one; it really adds a vibrant touch to your photos! Show the guide pics 8 and 9, and he will drive the jeep to the same picturesque spot, allowing you to get a fantastic shot with both the jeep and the volcano in the background.
