Whether you’re traveling with a group or on a romantic getaway, Bali offers a wealth of experiences. In my guide, I will share my top recommendations, but there are countless other hidden gems to discover.

Must-try foods: Bebek (Dirty Duck), Roasted Pork Ribs, and the succulent Bali pineapple, often available at hotel breakfasts.

Precautions: Bali’s tropical climate can be intense, so pack sunglasses and a portable fan to stay cool. Booking a private tour package in advance, with the guide assisting in accommodation arrangements, ensures a more cost-effective and hassle-free experience. Note that the guide typically avoids local hotspots, so if you crave an authentic taste, set aside an extra day for independent exploration.

Day 1: Arrival in Bali

1. Your first day is usually reserved for settling in. If you’ve arranged a tour package, your guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel.
2. For your first meal, savor the unique flavors of Ayam Tulang Lunak (Soft Bone Chicken) where the chef cooks the chicken until even the bones are tender and edible.

Ask your guide for a recommended restaurant.
3. Check into your hotel and unwind with a relaxing Balinese massage or a refreshing dip in the pool. Some hotels offer the luxury of private pools. (It’s advisable to stay in the Kuta or Denpasar area.)

2. Pack up and depart from the hotel, ready for a day of cultural immersion.

7. Visit Tirta Gangga, meaning “water from the Ganges,” an ancient royal garden that showcases the island’s natural beauty and spiritual significance.
8. Make your way to Penataran Agung Lempuyang Temple, a stunning temple complex perched on a hill, offering breathtaking views.
