Indonesia truly lives up to its name as the land of a thousand islands, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover such a stunning beach right in Jakarta.

Don’t forget to slather on some sunscreen; my arms were peeling after the trip [crying emoji]. The meeting point at the dock is conveniently located at the entrance of Baywalk Mall. If you have any trouble finding it, the friendly security guards are more than happy to guide you. There’s also a staff member at the ticket office who speaks Chinese, which can be a great help.

We chose to visit Pulau Seribu, a picturesque island that offers a perfect escape. The round-trip boat tickets are priced at 400k per person on weekdays and 500k on weekends. You can choose from two departure times: 9:00 AM or 10:00 AM, with return trips at 3:00 PM or 4:00 PM. The boat ride itself is about an hour each way, so plan for a total of two hours for the round trip.

During the journey, they provide a bottle of water and some light snacks to keep you refreshed. Once on the island, you can enjoy free use of small boats, and there are live band performances and a DJ to keep the atmosphere lively. For those looking for more adventure, there are paid activities like beach motorbikes, snorkeling, and horse riding.
