🏨 Hotel: Marianna Resort & Convention Tuktuk Samosir

We arrived at the enchanting Marianna Resort on the evening of the 30th, ready to unwind for a 3-day retreat, marking the final stop of our 24-year journey. The room, while not expansive, boasts new and modern amenities. The balcony offers a serene view of the pool and the lake, setting the perfect holiday scene. A short 5-minute walk takes you to a variety of restaurants and small shops, and it’s just a 20-minute stroll to the charming Tuktuk town.

Breakfast is a delightful affair with a wide array of options, including a chef’s counter where you can order freshly made noodles or omelets. The beef ball noodles are a must-try—absolutely delicious! Even those who usually skip breakfast find themselves eagerly rising at 9 am each day, savoring the meal, and then heading back for a cozy nap.

On the 31st, the hotel hosted a festive buffet dinner, party, and fireworks, all for a reasonable 350,000 Rp (30 SGD) per person. Upon arrival, we discovered that the event was predominantly attended by locals, with everything in Indonesian. The only part I could fully understand was the magic show, where the magician hilariously failed every trick, causing everyone to awkwardly lower their heads and focus on their food.

His unwavering determination, however, was truly inspiring and helped soothe my inner restlessness! The evening also featured a thrilling fire-breathing performance, and the New Year’s Eve fireworks lit up the sky for about ten minutes. After the sky cleared, we were treated to a breathtaking sunset, making it a truly memorable day.

The hotel offers a range of water sports, and we tried our hand at canoeing for half an hour. Despite the stunning scenery, we found ourselves exhausted and more than ready to return to the comfort of our room. Our days were filled with blissful sleep, refreshing swims, and delectable meals ☺️, embodying the ideal life.

I also highly recommend a visit to 🍽️ TaTaring Coffee & Resto (Photos 10-11). The ambiance and cuisine are both top-notch, and they even offer live music on weekends, though unfortunately, we missed it during our stay 😭.
