Explore Bali Hospital: Exclusive One Day Healthcare Tour Experience

🤒 My friend came down with a severe case of tonsillitis in Bali, spiking a fever over 39 degrees. Despite taking ibuprofen, the temperature only dropped to 38 degrees and kept fluctuating. We finally decided it was time to head to the emergency room!

We were incredibly anxious as we made our way there, worried about the language barrier and the fact that we were foreigners. We had also heard that medical care in Bali could be quite expensive.

🏥 We chose Siloam Hospital Denpasar, a private facility, and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent service. The staff listened to us patiently and made every effort to ensure we understood everything, answering all our questions thoroughly.

📝 Here’s how the emergency visit unfolded:
– First, we entered the emergency entrance, where a staff member inquired about our symptoms, took our temperature and blood pressure, and then guided us to an emergency bed.
– I went to register my friend’s basic information, and a passport photo was all they needed.

– A doctor came to ask about the detailed situation, including any drug allergies, and then explained the treatment plan to us.
– Another nurse provided an estimate of the treatment costs. Our plan included two IV drips: one for reducing the fever and one for rehydration. They would also draw blood for tests.

The total cost for the IV and blood test was 3000 RMB, while just the IV was 1500 RMB. We opted for the IV alone. The blood test and IV were administered simultaneously, and my friend already knew it was tonsillitis.
– We paid and received the medication, and the final bill came to 1000 RMB, which was even lower than expected, although still more expensive compared to back home.

💊 I must say, the medicine was remarkably effective. After just one bottle, my friend fell asleep, started sweating, and their body temperature dropped. Before, they couldn’t sweat and their whole body was burning hot. After this, the fever did not return.

⛽️ Finally, I want to remind everyone to take extra care of your health when traveling and to buy insurance for overseas trips. You can get reimbursed after returning home. If you didn’t get all the necessary documents from the hospital, I later wrote an email to the hospital to request them, and their service was truly outstanding!

🧊 And a word of caution: avoid adding ice to your drinks! On my last day at the hotel, I ordered a glass of juice with ice and ended up with a nasty case of diarrhea.
