Explore Jakarta: Best Flight Deals from Denpasar Airport Bali ✈️
Denpasar Airport (Ngurah Rai International Airport 🚶♂️ Domestic Airport)
After a magical Christmas in Bali, we’re off to Jakarta to ring in the New Year and welcome 2023 with a bang.

🚗 After battling the notorious traffic jams of the last two days in Bali—thanks to the influx of holidaymakers from Jakarta, with fewer people leaving—we decided to play it safe and leave early. The roads to the airport were surprisingly clear, and we arrived with a comfortable two and a half hours to spare.

Our guide had advised us to arrive at least two hours before our flight, and given the unpredictable traffic, we were glad we left early. The driver who picked us up dropped us off at the international terminal, and we had to navigate our way to the domestic airport on our own. The information desk informed us that it was in the adjacent building, but it turned out to be a 20-minute walk.

Fortunately, we still had plenty of time, so we took a leisurely stroll around the departure hall.

To add a bit of local flavor, as soon as our car pulled up at the airport, a friendly local in a red shirt offered to help with our luggage for a fee. We politely declined, and he watched as we unloaded our heavy bags, remaining indifferent. It was a small but memorable encounter.

👖🩳 Always feeling the chill, I made the switch from jeans to shorts at the domestic airport, and once on board, I realized it was a smart move. The air conditioning at the airport was just right, and the humid climate outside was a stark contrast.

🛍️💰 The departure hall is a shopper’s paradise, with everything from dining to retail. Surprisingly, WHSmith offers a wide range of souvenirs, local products, accessories, and even dream catchers, all at prices that are more competitive than the markets in Ubud 😂 If you have some time to spare, the airport is a great place to pick up these items.

Skincare brands like Heborist and Bali Plus are also available, with prices comparable to those outside. Some stores might be slightly more expensive by about 10k IDR, but the difference is negligible. I took advantage of a buy-five-get-one-free deal on Heborist skincare, which was a fantastic bargain.

🛍️ From clothes and bags to local civet coffee, Balinese chocolate, and snacks like chips, the airport has it all. I spotted “I ❤️Bali” tote bags, priced at 65k IDR each, and banana pies that looked absolutely delicious, with discounts for bulk purchases.
🍹🍲 There’s no shortage of dining options either. Whether you’re in the mood for Starbucks, Pizza Hut, Mi Xue, Yoshinoya, or the famous banana pie, there’s something for everyone. My favorite part was being able to enjoy a meal while watching the boarding queue, making the wait both convenient and enjoyable.
