Explore Jakarta to Bogor Hiking Trails: Best Routes and Tips

Finally, I embarked on a spontaneous adventure to Bogor, just a 2.5-hour drive from Jakarta and a perfect spot for hiking [Gold Potato R][Gold Potato R]. We set off from South Jakarta in a taxi around 8:30 in the morning and arrived at Leuwi Hejo by 11:00. At the entrance, we purchased tickets for 45K per person.

Guides are available at the entrance, though they typically don’t speak English, so having a translation app handy is a must. Our guide led us through dense jungle and winding streams. Yes, you’ll need to wade through the stream, so it’s best to bring wading shoes. Otherwise, you might end up like us, taking off your shoes three times [Blushing R][Blushing R].

The trail is rugged with uneven terrain, so trekking poles are highly recommended. The scenery is breathtaking, with lush rice fields, sparkling streams, and vibrant jungle. Wading through the stream is definitely a highlight of the trip~

Along the way, there are plenty of rest stops where you can grab a refreshing coconut for 20K each.

The entire route spans 6.7 kilometers and is relatively easy, but getting a taxi from the scenic area’s entrance can be challenging. We had our guide arrange an open-top vehicle to take us to Sentul, where we could then catch a taxi back to the city. It’s highly recommended to drive yourself if possible.
