Explore Komodo Island Directly from Malaysia: Affordable Travel Packages Available
Komodo Island has been a dream destination of mine since 2019, and the only thing holding me back was the lack of direct flights. This year, my patience paid off when AirAsia finally launched a direct route 🥳🥳🥳
Here’s how my adventure unfolded:
Day 1️⃣: I checked into Zasgo Hotel, which is conveniently located above a mart, Miniso, and CFC, making it a perfect base for exploring the area.
Day 2️⃣: I booked a one-day tour through the hotel, which took me to six breathtaking spots, including Padar Island, Komodo National Park, and the enchanting Pink Beach. Don’t forget to pack your swimsuit for snorkeling 🤿 and plenty of sunscreen, as the sun can be quite intense.
Day 3️⃣: I ventured to Pirate Island, a secluded private island with just one accommodation option, Le Pirates. Due to last-minute booking, I ended up in a treehouse, which was a bit warm, but waking up to the stunning ocean views each morning was absolutely worth it. A small fan would be a handy addition to your packing list.
Day 4️⃣: The day was filled with exciting activities like snorkeling and kayaking around Pirate Island, immersing myself in the crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life.
Day 5️⃣: I spent the night at Loccal Collection Hotel, where I indulged in a sumptuous lobster feast and a rejuvenating cave spa experience, the perfect way to unwind after days of adventure.
Day 6️⃣: It was time to head back home, carrying with me unforgettable memories and a newfound love for this incredible part of the world.
The cost breakdown for two people is as follows:
– Airfare: RM1139
– Five nights’ accommodation: RM1545
– Food and drinks at Pirate Island: RM662
– Lobster dinner for two + single spa: RM677
– Travel insurance + J travel sim card: RM182
– Additionally, I exchanged RM1500 for Indonesian Rupiah to cover the one-day tour for two (2.4M IDR) and the entrance fee to Komodo National Park (800K IDR), as well as taxi fares, meals in town, and tips.
