π Accommodation: I opted for a three-night stay, but the third night felt a bit redundant. π© Elang-Sudamala and Seraya-Bayview were my choices. The accommodations were decent, but considering it was peak tourist season, the prices were on the higher side. Unfortunately, the service didn’t quite match the cost.
Small amenities like toothbrushes were not provided, and the internet connection was spotty. However, if you’re looking for a peaceful retreat, the lack of connectivity might be a plus. If you plan to visit, I recommend Bayview, but make sure to bring your own toothbrush.
I wouldn’t recommend spending an extra day on a private island. Sudamala, in particular, has a low cost-performance ratio, with expensive food options. While the scenery is indeed beautiful and serene, the nightly rate of over 3000 RMB, including their services, doesn’t feel worth it.
π Day Tour: If you book through the hotel, expect to pay around 600+ RMB. A helpful tip from a user on Xiaohongshu suggested checking out the street near the port, where you can find better deals. Booking a day tour that covers Padar Island, Pink Beach, Komodo National Park, and Manta Point is a must. This route is highly recommended, as the other attractions are not as worthwhile.
π² Eating: On the main island, there are two notable restaurants. Happy Banana, a Japanese eatery, offers a pleasant dining experience, though the salad could be improved. Taman Laut, on the other hand, serves delicious and affordable Indonesian cuisine, and you can enjoy a stunning sunset while you dine.
π€³ Photography: Don’t forget to bring a cushion compact for quick touch-ups throughout the day. There’s a picturesque road near La Cecile Hotel that’s perfect for evening photos. During your day tours, avoid backlit spots and focus on half-body shots to capture the best light. Keep snapping away, and you’ll surely get some great shots.

– Bring a full-body swimsuit to minimize sunscreen use.
– Pack a towel and a toothbrush.
– Travel light, and wear short sleeves, shorts, and flip-flops.
– A waterproof bag and a power bank are must-haves, especially for taking photos in the sea.
