1️⃣ One-day itinerary
Borobudur → Sultan Palace → Taman Sari Water Castle → Prambanan → Malioboro Street

✅ Sultan Palace & Taman Sari Water Castle (Taman Sari is more beautiful)
Depart at 10:30 to visit the Sultan Palace and Taman Sari, the two attractions are very close, visit duration 2 hours

Depart at 2:30 to visit Prambanan, the site is large, divided into four architectural complexes, the first one is the largest and most spectacular, but there are many local student groups.

You can go directly to the fourth complex for photos after visiting. The sunset around 5 PM is beautiful, you can enjoy the sunset view from the restaurant in the scenic area.
✅ Malioboro Street (optional)
At night, it turns into a pedestrian street with food and street performances, and many horse-drawn carriages parked along the road.

The lawn where, according to legend, walking blindfolded between two trees will fulfill your wish, is at the end of the street.
2️⃣ Transportation
Train: Tickets can be purchased on the “Traveloka” app, buy the cheapest one.
Plane: From the airport, you can take a train to the city center, tickets cost 20k/50k (direct is more expensive), 35-40 minutes to the airport, tickets can be bought on the kai bandara website.

City transportation
Car rental: Available on Ctrip or Fliggy, relatively expensive; cheaper on Traveloka, starting from 90k, you can prepay for fuel and driver’s meal to avoid disputes, including fuel and parking fees, it costs about 200 RMB per day. The driver may not speak English, prepare translation software for communication.

Taxi: Use the Gojek (cheaper) or Grab app, can register with a domestic phone number.
3️⃣ Accommodation

If you come to Yogyakarta, you must visit Borobudur, but the attraction is far, and the climbing tickets are limited and time-slotted, requiring reservation or early queuing.

Staying at this hotel includes two climbing tickets (455k each), with a default climbing time (can communicate with the hotel for other times). Meet at the hotel front desk at 8:30 AM, get straw sandals and climb with the hotel guide. We were a group of six, separate from the site’s group (100 people).

In the city center, recommend The 101 Yogyakarta Tugu Hotel, over 300 RMB per night, next to the Yogyakarta Monument in the city center, with an outdoor pool, offers spa services, 230k/60min, to relieve travel fatigue.
