Komodo Free Travel Guide: Explore Hidden Gems and Best Kept Secrets

A few small tips:
I booked my flight and hotel on the same day. Booking in advance might be cheaper, but there are many flights and the hotel prices don’t fluctuate much. I booked the hotel on Agoda, which was cheaper than Ctrip and Feizhu F5 membership [Cute R].
When flying from Bali to Komodo, do not choose the 4 PM flight.

This flight is often delayed, and if you have a tight schedule, it will affect your sunset viewing time. However, I think watching the sunset over Labuan Bajo from the sky is also great [Wow R].
I chose to charter a boat, 80 pink 100,000 (IDR), which was about 3,000+ RMB at the exchange rate of the day.

It included 10 hours of boat use, drinks and food on the boat, Komodo National Park entrance fee, pick-up from the shore to the hotel, and drop-off at the airport. You can freely choose the route at sea, such as snorkeling at more places and controlling the stay time at each spot. There was only me, so it wasn’t like an assembly line operation as described in other posts.

The staff kept asking if I wanted to find more Komodo dragons. He took many angles and guided poses, shooting lots of videos, and almost every shot was good… He didn’t ask for a tip, but he actually vaped [Laughing R]. If I brought him one, I think he would be very happy. I didn’t stay too long because I was eager to see the pink beach.

I highly recommend this for independent travelers or couples. From the pictures, I think the speedboat can fit 3-5 people without any problem! I asked the driver who picked me up to help contact them. You can pay part of the fee when boarding and the rest after leaving. It’s recommended to download WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business.

I didn’t choose a liveaboard, considering that, unlike a yacht, I didn’t know if I could handle the sea waves. Besides, the hotels here have a high cost-performance ratio. Mulia is not as expensive as in Bali, and I recommend Meruorah Komodo more. Remember to choose a sea view room.
The seafood at this place is delicious, with prices similar to Guangzhou.

The sauce for the grilled fish is excellent. If the seaside tables are full, buy a cup of pure juice from the fruit shop next door, and you’ll get a [Cute R] moment. If I had the chance to eat snacks once a year, I’d choose these marshmallows and banana chips [Cute R]. They are not too sweet and have a chocolate flavor [Cute R][Cute R][Cute R].

The seaweed-flavored chips are also yummy.
