✈️: Maximize flight time
As working professionals, we booked red-eye flights for both legs of the journey, with departures in the early morning.

This way, we could sleep on the plane and arrive at our destination in the morning, not missing out on anything, truly masters of time management.
📱: Double insurance for internet
Domestic SIM card with roaming: To not miss important messages and calls
Local SIM card: For contacting local guides and using apps (like WhatsApp and the ride-hailing app Grab)
🏠: Accommodation varies by preference
The first half of the trip had us staying in places for very short periods, so we prioritized cleanliness and tidiness without demanding too much.

For the latter part, where we mainly rested, there was more time to choose better accommodations. There are many options available, such as Agoda, Booking, and Airbnb, with the principle being the earlier you book, the better 😄
🧳: The more luggage preparation, the better
You can refer to my packing list (♀, I think I brought quite a comprehensive set, though many items were not used, which I’ve also noted, allowing you to consider whether they are necessary to bring.

🚗: Local transportation is crucial
Locals rarely walk; small city roads are mostly two-lane, and the road conditions are not great. Most intersections lack traffic lights, so even a distance of twenty or thirty kilometers can take one to two hours. Considering efficiency, safety, and convenience, it’s best to directly choose a car rental service (details below).

Traffic on the main island of Bali is relatively friendlier. If you’re not going to far-off places like Ubud, it’s strongly recommended to rent a scooter for more freedom (but drive safely).
☝🏻Car rental service: The driver also acts as a guide, responsible for pick-up and drop-off between destinations.

If you need to go somewhere for meals, etc., you can discuss it with them. Overall, it’s very convenient. Upon reaching each destination, they will also arrange a dedicated guide for that particular site. It may seem redundant, but many routes are quite winding, and having a local guide saves time and provides an extra person to look after you.

They can also help take photos, hahaha. The people are all very nice and can communicate in basic English. If you need contact information, feel free to message me. The car rental service we used did not require a deposit; you pay half upon meeting after landing, and settle the remaining amount at the end of the trip.
