Unforgettable Adventure: Perfect Day Exploring Pramuka Island, Jakarta 🏝️
Finally, the long-awaited glass sea came into view!!! 🥳🥳 It was absolutely breathtaking! Initially, I had considered taking the easy route by joining a tour group for a day filled with food, fun, and activities. However, after delving into some travel guides on Xiaohongshu, I realized the itinerary was quite straightforward, and there was no real need to join a tour.

A colleague who had visited before kindly provided me with the contact information of a staff member at Marina Ancol port (who speaks Chinese fluently), and I reached out to him directly. He was incredibly enthusiastic and detail-oriented throughout our trip, patiently answering all our questions and even serving as our go-to support 😂 (we bombarded him with every query, and he handled everything flawlessly).

Getting back to the main story, we booked our tickets in advance with the staff, and the next day, we headed over to pick them up and pay the fees (the round-trip boat ticket for this island is 380,000 Rupiah per person, so for the four of us, it amounted to 1,520,000 Rupiah, which is about 705 RMB, and it’s a medium-sized cruise ship like the one in picture 9).

When booking the tickets, you need to provide a name, which can be a nickname, and the crew will call out the names in order to board the ship (as shown in picture 10). Boarding starts at 8:00 AM, and the boat departs around 8:15 AM. After an hour and a half, we arrived at Pramuka Island, and from there, we chartered a smaller boat, which cost about 400,000 Rupiah (about 200 RMB, similar to a fishing boat in the last picture).

We thought they would just drop us off somewhere and let us explore on our own, but!!! The boatman took us on a guided tour of all the stunning spots, and we spent over two hours playing in the crystal-clear waters, marveling at the mesmerizing glass sea. It was truly worth every penny. Later, we felt that he was really good and hardworking, so we gave him a generous tip as a token of our gratitude!

!! Don’t forget to return to the port by 2:40 PM to prepare for the boat back to Jakarta.
