Although Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia, it’s not typically a top destination for tourists. As a rare escapee from the corporate grind, I managed to carve out two precious days off. Little did I know that my experience would be summed up by three unforgettable keywords: diarrhea, traffic jams, and feeling utterly drained 😥 (thanks to motorbike taxis, walking, and local cuisine).

When it comes to traffic, if Beijing is known as China’s “capital of congestion,” then Jakarta surely holds the title of the world’s “capital of congestion” 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♂️. If you think the traffic in Beijing is bad, just wait until you experience Jakarta ‼️‼️‼️
