Discover Amboseli on Day 6: Ultimate Kenya Safari Adventure Experience
This time, I managed to avoid carsickness. The journey took us through the park, and while the scenery was somewhat monotonous, dominated mostly by elephants, it still held its charm. I’d recommend visiting in the morning, taking a break at the hotel during the midday, and returning for another round in the evening.

One particular elephant gave me quite a scare. It shook its head vigorously and then charged a couple of steps in our direction, sending a shiver down my spine.

According to the plan, we were supposed to leave the park by 6:00 PM. Part of the reason was sheer exhaustion, and the other was that Mount Kilimanjaro remained stubbornly hidden behind a veil of clouds. Our driver mentioned he had a friend in town who could help us get a better view, but even after reaching the hotel, the mountain remained elusive.

After a brief rest, I was contemplating an early start the next morning, but the driver surprised us with an unexpected announcement—we were leaving right away. We hopped into the vehicle and drove about 4.5 kilometers from the hotel.

Gradually, Africa’s most revered mountain—Kilimanjaro—unveiled its majestic beauty, a sight so breathtaking that it made the entire trip to Amboseli feel worthwhile. Snow on the equator! It was truly a moment to cherish.

Feeling grateful, I added a $2 tip for the driver. Then, we returned to the hotel, where we had to endure the subpar food and a room infested with bugs.
