Before setting off, I was brimming with anticipation and a touch of nervousness. After all, I was about to embark on a 15-day, 12-night adventure to Kenya and Tanzania with Zebra Tours, not knowing what this journey would bring. It wasn’t until I set foot on that land that I realized it was like stepping into a real-life “Zootopia,” where every moment felt like a scene from a blockbuster movie! Now, I can’t wait to share this incredible experience with you ✨

🌍 Highlights of the Trip
This journey was a treasure trove of surprises at every turn. We flew with Ethiopian Airlines for the international leg, and the flight was a dream—quiet, comfortable, and smoothly gliding towards the enchanting East African continent.
The accommodations were nothing short of spectacular.

We stayed in 5-star hotels along the Mara River, where opening the window revealed breathtaking natural beauty; lakeside hotels by Lake Naivasha, where mornings greeted us with serene lake and mountain views; and the Amboseli landscape hotel, where the grassland vistas could be enjoyed right from our rooms.

In Tanzania, the local-style Lodge/Camp and 4-star standard hotels provided a deep dive into the local culture, and the two nights spent inside Serengeti were unforgettable, with the sounds of nature lulling us to sleep.

🚗 Mode of Transportation
Throughout the trip, we traveled in 8-9 seater open-top safari vehicles, with just six people per vehicle, ensuring everyone had a window seat. This setup was my favorite part of the journey, providing unobstructed views and a sense of freedom.

🌈 Travel Experience
The activities during the trip were rich and captivating. At Elsa’s Estate, we savored an English afternoon tea on the African savanna, feeling a unique blend of luxury and leisure. Gazing at Mount Kilimanjaro, the majestic view left me in awe, with the snow-capped summit glittering under the sunlight, a true gift from nature.

During the boat ride on Lake Naivasha, we closely observed groups of hippos and a kaleidoscope of colorful birds, watching the hippos play in the water and the birds soar in the sky, creating a vibrant tapestry of life. A light hike on Crescent Island allowed us to walk alongside zebras, giraffes, and other wild animals, a magical experience that made me feel the harmony of life.

The welcoming ceremony of the Maasai tribe was a highlight, with the enthusiastic locals greeting us in their unique way, allowing me to gain a deep understanding of their rich culture and daily life. Sunset drinks on the great plains, toasting in the afterglow of the setting sun, with the golden sunlight warming our bodies, was a moment of pure bliss.

On Zanzibar Island, we went on a sea hunt and encountered the crystal-clear waters, so transparent you could see the ocean’s soul. A Citywalk in the World Heritage Stone Town, strolling through ancient streets, listening to its stories of past and present, each stone whispering tales of history, was a profoundly moving experience.

Be sure to plan ahead before traveling, and remember to schedule the yellow fever vaccine early.

The safari schedule is meticulously planned by your experienced guide, taking into account the day’s conditions for your safety. You’ll return to the comfort of your hotel after sunrise and before sunset, ensuring you enjoy the best light and wildlife activity. While the grassland accommodations offer a rustic charm, they are equipped with all the basic amenities you need.

Please note that bed sizes may vary, so we appreciate your flexibility and understanding. When exploring the reserves, your lunch will be thoughtfully packed, but feel free to bring along some of your favorite snacks to add a personal touch. For a comfortable journey, we recommend packing a suitcase no larger than 26 inches, ensuring ample space in the vehicle for everyone.
