The hotel in Amboseli opted for the latter between Kibo and Kilimanjaro, and it was a fantastic choice. The view is simply breathtaking; waking up each day to the majestic sight of Kilimanjaro through your window is a true blessing. The pool area is equally stunning, offering a panoramic view of the mountain, and there’s even an observation deck in the hotel restaurant lobby where you can take in the awe-inspiring scenery.
In the early morning, you can watch hot air balloons floating by, adding a touch of magic to the landscape.
The hotel itself is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Inside, you’ll encounter warthogs, zebras, and playful monkeys. Early mornings and evenings bring the delightful sight of animals gathering to drink at the waterhole, and the hotel even arranges bonfire parties at night for stargazing under the vast African sky.
But the highlight for many is the food—absolutely delicious 😋 and perfectly suited to Chinese tastes. We all agreed that this was the best culinary experience of our trip. In contrast, the tented camp in Maasai Mara, with its three-course meals, left much to be desired [石化R].
From morning until 3 PM, the hotel offers complimentary tea and snacks, which are a lovely touch. I particularly enjoyed the birthday ceremony in the restaurant, complete with a lively group playing music on pots and pans, singing “Hakuna Matata” [笑哭R]. Although the hotel isn’t located inside the park, it’s just a stone’s throw from the entrance, making it incredibly convenient. It’s a shame we only stayed for two nights; I could easily have spent a week here without getting tired of it [害羞R].
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, though not as rustic as the tented camp in Maasai Mara. However, they are still very pleasant, and there are fewer mosquitoes. At night, you might spot some curious monkeys, but not as many as in Maasai Mara. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its blend of natural beauty, comfort, and memorable experiences.
