🦁 Just back from an exhilarating 10-day trip to Kenya, even though I did my research thoroughly, I still fell into a few traps several times 😭! Alright, let me give you a good lesson and guide those of you who are planning to go on a Safari❗❗

1⃣ The price of Kenyan tour packages varies greatly, with the cheapest being less than 10,000, and the most expensive ranging from 50,000 to 100,000.
The general market price is around 20,000 to 40,000. The main reasons for the fluctuations are the season, number of people, and hotel standards. Don’t think that Kenya is just a furnace 🔥; it’s at a high altitude, over 1,500 meters, with temperatures usually around 25 degrees, but the temperature difference between day and night is like a roller coaster.
Take my advice, bring a jacket 🧥 and a few T-shirts 👕, wear a jacket in the morning and evening, and switch to T-shirts at noon.
2⃣ Bring a few more T-shirts or tank tops. When the dust storm comes during the safari, your clothes will need to be changed. But don’t expect to wash them there; the water quality is terrible, and after washing, the clothes will feel slippery 🧽.
3⃣ You must bring hand sanitizer or portable wet wipes 🧼. The attractions are far apart, with a minimum drive of three to four hours. Snack on some cookies 🍪 on the way, and keep your hands clean.
4⃣ If your English isn’t great, sign up for a tour group departing from China ✈, with a full Chinese-speaking guide, and a Chinese-speaking guide on the safari vehicle, ensuring smooth communication and a more enjoyable experience.
5⃣ Don’t expect five-star hotels in Kenya to be like those in big cities; they’re probably comparable to Atour hotels in China, but the natural scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. Open the door in the morning to see animals 🦓, and fall asleep at night to the sounds of wildlife 🌙.
6⃣ Domestic tours are generally 9+1 or 19+1 (1 is the guide).
It may seem like a lot of people, but once in Africa, you’ll split into vehicles 🚐, six people per off-road vehicle, similar to a boutique small group. In the later days, you won’t see much of the others.
7⃣ If you’re coming for the animals, fully immerse yourself in Maasai Mara. We didn’t get enough in a day and a half 📅, and the sunset over the Maasai Mara grasslands is incredibly beautiful.
It’s recommended to stay for three days because the place is really vast!
8⃣ The dust in Maasai and the lake area is manageable, but the dust in Amboseli is like a mini sandstorm. Make sure to bring extra masks and wet wipes.
9⃣ Don’t think that animal migration can only be seen in July and August ❗ Animals migrate all year round.
The scene of wildebeest crossing the Mara River in July and August 🐮 is spectacular, but you can also see various animals at other times, and the prices are more affordable!
🔟 Booking in advance 🚨 is a must! Especially from July to September, good hotels are booked out early 🈚.
