Must-See Kyoto Photo Spots for Instagram: Perfect One-Day Citywalk Guide
Whenever there’s a discussion about travel destinations with great experiences, Japan is always mentioned.
The Kyoto-Osaka route in the Kansai region is visually stunning, fun, and delicious—truly an excellent choice for outbound travel.

This time, I managed to check off 9️⃣ classic photo spots in just 1 hour, with picture-perfect results every time 👇

·

1️⃣: Navigate to “Saikō-in” (p1)
A classic shot of Yasaka Pagoda from the slope.

·
2️⃣: Navigate to “Kyoto Mizuiro-tei” (p2p3)
Another iconic spot for Yasaka Pagoda, with traditional houses on both sides leading to the base of the pagoda—great for photos. Shooting too early might result in backlighting.

·
3️⃣: Navigate to “Meianotei” (p4p5)
A slope shot on Sannenzaka. Though the cherry blossom tree is gone, the views up and down the slope still capture the essence of Kyoto.

·
4️⃣: Navigate to “Aguya Chaya” (p6)
The intersection of Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka, offering a unique tranquility and leisure in the early morning when crowds are sparse.

·
5️⃣: Fushimi Inari Taisha (p7p8p9)
Search for “Senbon Torii” on the map. There are two pathways—the left descending path makes it easier to capture the torii gates without people.

·
6️⃣: Navigate to “Kamo River Promenade” (p10)
A spot featured in *Detective Conan*, synonymous with romance during Kyoto’s twilight and nighttime.
·
7️⃣: Kiyomizu-dera—Kiyomizu Stage (p11)
The same spot where Conan and Ran took their photo. The building in the shot is the “Kiyomizu Stage,” taken from the “Okunoin” viewing platform at Kiyomizu-dera.
·
8️⃣: Kiyomizu-dera—Five-Story Pagoda (p12)
A vantage point overlooking the entire temple. After passing the Kiyomizu Stage, walk a short distance along the exit route to capture the pagoda framed by trees.
·
9️⃣: Yasaka Shrine (p13)
More atmospheric at night, with rows of lanterns making for effortless photo opportunities.
