Let’s face it, the hotel is often the biggest expense on any trip 🥹🥹. I spent countless hours poring over options to find the perfect stay.

First, a quick note: there are two main islands to choose from—Big Island, which offers a more serene and tranquil experience, and Small Island, known for its vibrant and lively atmosphere.

I opted to stay on the Small Island at Long Beach. If you’re looking for a place that buzzes with energy after dark, complete with beachside bars and mesmerizing fire shows, this is the spot for you. It’s the heart of the nightlife scene, and you won’t want to miss out on the fun.

💰 Price: The hotels on Long Beach range from budget-friendly options starting at 300 to luxurious stays that can cost over 1000. I personally stayed at Cocohut Long Beach, which was around 300+. My top priority was cleanliness, and while it wasn’t perfect, it met my basic needs.

❌ Disadvantages:
– The cleanliness could be better; there were some dust issues, and the usual small insects and ants that are common on tropical islands.
– The location is quite elevated, requiring a steep climb up a slope. It’s in the middle of the beach, but our boarding and disembarking point was at the front, near Mimpi Hotel (check the picture for reference).

– There are no true sea view rooms. They initially claimed to have them, but it just means you can glimpse the sea from the door. For a proper view, you’d need to stay higher up, which involves a tiring climb.

✅ Advantages:
– When we arrived at Jetty Besuh, the staff from Cocohut Long Beach was right there, waiting for us. They guided us through the jetty and ticket purchasing process, making everything smooth and stress-free.
– The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. They can assist with booking snorkeling boat tickets, and the snorkeling equipment is their own, so you don’t have to share with others.

📌 If you have a more generous budget, consider staying at Mimpi Long Beach or Bubu Long Beach. Both are conveniently located near the pier and a variety of restaurants.
📌 If your budget is tighter, like mine, Cocohut Long Beach is a solid choice.
