Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Malacca, a truly enchanting and delightful city that you can easily explore in just one day. However, there are a few less-than-ideal aspects to be aware of. Today, I’m excited to share some insider tips to help you navigate these challenges and ensure your trip is as smooth and enjoyable as possible! 💖

🚻 Toilet Matters
The toilets in Malacca—some of them left me utterly speechless! 😅 For instance, the restroom near the Red Square looks luxurious from the outside, but once you step inside, the cramped space might make you want to cry 😂, and there’s no toilet paper! Ladies, remember to bring your own tissues! But don’t worry, there’s a spacious and free 🆓 toilet inside the Red House. I highly recommend using that one instead. 🙆🏻‍♀️

💧 The Secret of Water
When it comes to staying hydrated, the prices of bottled water on the streets of Malacca can be quite steep, with a bottle costing anywhere from 1.9 to 2 RM! 😭 However, let me share a little secret: near the Dutch Red House and the Maritime Museum, you can find bottles for just 1 RM! It’s a great deal, so keep this in mind! 😜

🚗 Unreliable Transportation?
If the map shows there are buses, don’t rely on them being punctual! 🤦🏻‍♀️ If you’re in a hurry, it’s better to take a taxi or a trishaw 🛺, which are much more convenient. While transportation options are generally available, you’ll need to be patient when waiting for the bus.

🏨 Accommodation
Ladies, the accommodation I booked through azgo this time was absolutely ✨ worth it! At only about 100 RM per night, it offers excellent value for money, and each booking also comes with cashback. It’s a fantastic choice for a comfortable stay.

🍴 Be Cautious with Food and Drinks
While the snacks in Malacca look tempting, the taste can sometimes be underwhelming 😥. For example, pineapple tarts and Nyonya cakes might not meet your expectations. However, I highly recommend a chicken rice shop near the Maritime Museum! 🍚 The chicken legs are enormous, and the flavor is incredible. At just 15.9 RM per serving, it’s a satisfying and delicious meal! 🍗
