Discover the Jelly Sea: Ultimate Guide from Langkawi to Koh Lipe Adventure
Kuala Lumpur✈️Langkawi🚢Koh Lipe, Thailand. After a long and tiring journey by plane and boat, the moment I laid eyes on this stunning sea made every second of travel worth it!

➡Where is Koh Lipe: Nestled at the southernmost tip of Thailand’s western coast, just northwest of Langkawi, Malaysia, Koh Lipe is a hidden gem in the Andaman Sea!

➡How to get to Koh Lipe: While you can travel from Thailand, which tends to be longer and less convenient, the recommended route is from Langkawi, Malaysia. From there, it’s just a quick 90-minute boat ride.

🚢Two companies operate the Langkawi to Koh Lipe route:
[Check-in R] If you’re staying at Pantai Cenang, opt for Company S. The pier is just a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport, and while it’s simple with only a small coffee shop, it offers a hassle-free experience.
Boat departure point: Telaga Harbour Marina
Ticket booking website: telaga-terminal.com, where tickets can be purchased up to two days in advance. The cost is RM156.5 per person one way, or RM313 for a round trip.

[Check-in R] For those staying in Kuah Town, Company B is the better choice. Located near Eagle Square, the area is more bustling with Starbucks and McDonald’s nearby, though the boat ride is a bit longer.

We opted for Company S, which provides one morning and one afternoon departure.
⭐Specific process:
▶Upon entering the pier, turn left past a small coffee shop to find the ticket exchange counter. Present your ID and booking information, and they will provide a paper ticket. Fill out the Thai entry card here as well.

▶Before boarding, go through customs, hand over your passport (it will be returned after disembarking), and give your luggage to the crew. The process is well-organized, so there’s no need to worry.
▶Seats on the boat are not assigned, so feel free to choose your spot.
▶After an hour and a half, you’ll arrive near Koh Lipe.

The large boat cannot dock, so you’ll transfer to a smaller boat. Follow the crowd to complete customs procedures; someone will call out names and nationalities to return passports.
▶After completing the entry procedures, head to a nearby counter to pay the 200 THB national park conservation fee per person.

▶Find your hotel receptionist (usually, hotel staff will hold up signs near customs). Collect your luggage, take a car to the hotel, and let your vacation begin!
Koh Lipe, smaller than Phuket, Samui, and Bali, boasts greener, more vibrant waters and pristine white sand, making it a true paradise! It’s no wonder it’s often called the Maldives of Southeast Asia; the moment you step off the boat, you can’t help but exclaim “Wow!” in awe of its beauty!!!
🏨This time we chose to stay at Sunrise Beach. Stay tuned for my next post, where I’ll dive into the details of the beach and our hotel experience [Smile R]
