Just finished a 6-day trip to Penang with my sisters, and Penang is really beautiful; we had a great time! But during the trip, we were misled by some fake travel guides on xhs 😭! For example, “Free CAT bus to explore George Town (in reality, it’s hard to wait for the bus, and sometimes they don’t stop even if you wave), and the durian plantation in Balik Pulau is really out of the way (it’s easy to go up the mountain, but hard to get a ride down) 😥” and so on.

🤔【Travel Tips for Malaysia】
⚠️ Tip 1: During holidays, the queue for the funicular train to Penang Hill is very long. The express lane (RM80 round trip) is faster. Also, the view while sitting is not as good as standing at the back.

⚠️ Tip 2: Many shops in Penang support Alipay (usually not available at small vendors), so it’s still advisable to prepare cash and a Visa card.

⚠️ Tip 3: When visiting the Peranakan Museum and some second-floor restaurants, you need to take off your shoes. Try not to wear socks with holes.
