Langkawi Travel Guide: Best Attractions and Activities Summary

[Checklist] Accommodation
We opted for a countryside villa on Booking, which came with its own set of advantages and drawbacks.
[Star] Pros: The villa was incredibly affordable, costing less than RMB1100 for three days, including breakfast. See pictures 7-8. Nestled amidst lush forests and serene streams, the setting was a tranquil, natural haven.
Safety was never a concern, thanks to the friendly locals and the landlord’s two watchful dogs. The landlord went above and beyond, offering airport transfers and even arranging direct pick-ups and drop-offs to Kuah Town.
[Star] Cons: The location was a bit remote compared to the bustling Cenang Beach and Kuah Town.
One night, while using Grab, the driver mistook us for locals, and the navigation system had some hiccups, forcing us to rely on our own sense of direction to find our way back.
[Checklist] Activities and Attractions
[Star] 1. Sunset Cruise
With the help of our landlord, we booked a sunset cruise, which offered various packages: RM99, RM199, and RM299. The main difference lies in the inclusions; RM99 comes with soft drinks and snacks, while the higher-priced options include alcoholic beverages and different boat types.
Opting for the most cost-effective choice, we went with RM99, and it was absolutely worth it. We were treated to the most breathtaking sunset we’ve ever seen. See pictures 1-3.
[Star] 2. Mangrove Tour
The landlord also assisted us in booking the mangrove tour, priced at RM50 per person. Departing from Tanjung Rhu Mangrove Jetty, the tour took us around the outer sea, almost bordering Thai waters, into Kilim Geoforest Park (see picture 9), through the Bat Cave (see picture 10), to the Eagle Feeding Point, and finally to a small fishing village where we spent about half an hour.
Those who didn’t eat just waited. The entire journey lasted approximately 3 hours.
[Star] 3. Sandy Skull Beach
This hidden gem, recommended by our landlord, is a local favorite and not crowded. The beach features fine sand perfect for lounging, and you can take a refreshing dip in the sea. See pictures 4-6.
[Star] 4. Legenda Park
A free seaside park where you can collect shells, snap side-profile photos with the giant eagle statue, and catch a glimpse of the Langkawi Tower. See pictures 11-14.
[Checklist] Food
[Star] Avoid: MarryBrown and McDonald’s delivery, both of which were disappointing. McDonald’s, in particular, lacks breaded fried chicken, earning it a thumbs down.
[Star] Recommendations:
1. Kuah Town Seafood – A fantastic seafood restaurant suggested by our landlord. Check the price list in picture 16, and be sure to try the sweet and sour flavor.

2. EE Burger, a renowned local spot for handmade burgers. The burgers are delicious, and the stir-fried dishes, depending on your taste, are a must-try.
