Ultimate 3 Days 2 Nights Travel Guide to Malacca: Explore Historic Sites & Local Delights
In my previous post, I delved into the enchanting world of Peranakan costumes. Now, let’s dive into the vibrant experiences and delicious treats we savored during our 3-day, 2-night adventure in Malacca ✨

First, let’s talk about our journey from Kuala Lumpur to Malacca by train~😉

🎫 KTM Train Ticket
The scenic route from Kuala Lumpur to Pulau Sebang/Tampin is a delightful two-hour ride.

Initially, I struggled with the KTM official website due to some pesky bugs, but after downloading the KTMB Mobile app, everything went smoothly! The ticket price is around 26RM per person, and you can pick your seats directly on the app. Since we booked a bit late, we ended up sitting separately, so be sure to book early if you want to sit together, folks ☺️ We were in coach A and B, and coach A was surprisingly chilly, so don’t forget to bring a jacket 🥶

Upon arriving at Pulau Sebang/Tampin, we hopped into a Grab, which took us about an hour to reach the heart of Malacca, costing around 150RM.

🏠 Accommodation in Malacca
We stayed at Amadel Residence in Costa Mahkota, a spacious house that can comfortably accommodate up to 10 people. It’s just a 10-15 minute drive from Encore Melaka and Jonker Street.

The house is incredibly large and spotless (a cleanliness enthusiast’s dream), but we did face some WiFi issues, as it kept disconnecting. After reporting the problem to the owner, he promptly resolved it, and it turned out to be an issue with the internet provider. If not for the internet hiccup, it would have been perfect.

👹 Encore Melaka: Encore Malacca
We booked our tickets on trip.com and had to collect the physical tickets at the counter. I thought we’d need to choose our seats on the spot, but they were already assigned. Adult tickets are 78RM, with discounts for seniors and children at 48RM, and non-locals at 158RM.

The performance lasts about an hour and narrates the rich history and culture of Malacca. The unique setup features audience seats that rotate 360 degrees, providing a panoramic view of the show. The rotation is gentle, so there’s no dizziness. We were lucky enough to catch a special Lunar New Year performance, adding an extra layer of excitement to the experience~
🫕 McQuek Satay Celup
This popular skewer hot pot place is known for its long queues. To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of satay celup 😂 Just a tip: avoid the free broth, as it might have been used by others before 🥶
🚶♀️ Jonker Street Night Market
The night market is bustling with life on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Due to frequent traffic jams, if you’re calling a Grab, set your pickup location to Hotel Casa Del Rio or Tamil Methodist Church for a smoother ride~
Ee Ji Ban Chicken Rice Balls 🐔
Famous for their chicken rice balls, Ee Ji Ban is a must-try in Malacca. To be honest, it wasn’t as impressive as I remembered, but if it’s your first time, it’s worth a try~
In summary, we were blessed with clear skies and no rain during our 3 days in Malacca, which also meant the sun was quite intense. Don’t forget to bring an umbrella or apply sunscreen! I hope this post helps you plan your trip. Feel free to leave a comment and share any favorite places or food in Malacca! Have a wonderful journey 🥰
