Discover Dunedin: The Enchanting City Closest to Your Dreams

[Red heart R] Dunedin: It is the second largest city on the South Island of New Zealand, after Christchurch. The city is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the sea on one side, built by Scottish descendants in imitation of Edinburgh, hence it is known as the “Edinburgh of New Zealand.” This is also one of the ports for cruise ships heading to Antarctica, and perhaps in the near future, I will depart from here to my dream destination – Antarctica [Two hearts R][Two hearts R][Two hearts R].

[Grass planting R] This time, I chose a two-bedroom apartment called Majestic Mansions (Figures 2-4). The decoration style is very rustic, and the apartment is very close to the seaside, just a two-minute walk away. In the morning, I chose a restaurant for breakfast (Figures 5-6), which was a full visual and taste experience.

🌊 Tunnel Beach (Figure 7): Located southwest of Dunedin, there is free parking, but you cannot see the beach either from the parking lot or from the viewing platform halfway down the hill, which might be why it’s considered one of the most mysterious attractions.
🚉 Dunedin Railway Station (Figures 8-10): Known as one of the most beautiful train stations in the world, it features Baroque architectural style on the exterior, and the interior is filled with a sense of history.

It was once the busiest station in New Zealand, but due to the decline of the gold rush, only a few tourist trains remain.
⛪️ First Church of Otago (Figures 10-12): Built in 1873, it is the first church in New Zealand, featuring Baroque architecture. Due to its height of about 55m, it is considered a landmark building in Dunedin.

[Dome R] The Octagon (Figures 13-15): It is the transportation hub of Dunedin, but there is also a specially designated pedestrian area for tourists. The historic buildings, various shops, and restaurants complement each other, making this ancient city vibrant!
[Rainbow R] Baldwin Street (Figures 16-18): You might not be familiar with this name, but when mentioned by its other title, I believe many have heard of it – “the steepest street in the world”!

Although the street is only about 350m long, the elevation rises from 30m to 100m. There is a turnaround platform at the top of the street for vehicles! Would you like to drive and experience the fun of going up and down the steepest street in the world?

The traffic within Dunedin is relatively complex, and parking on the roadside requires payment. It is recommended that you park your car near the railway station and then walk to the railway station, the First Church of Otago, and The Octagon.
