【About Milford Sound】

📝 Itinerary:
DAY1: From Glade Wharf to Clinton Hut, a 5-kilometer hike, estimated to take 1.5 hours. The route passes through beautiful beech forests, and there is a pond suitable for swimming near the Clinton Hut.
DAY2: From Clinton Hut to Mintaro Hut, a 16.

5-kilometer hike, estimated to take 6 hours. The path goes past Hirere Falls and Pompolona Glacier.
DAY3: From Mintaro Hut to Dumpling Hut, a 14-kilometer hike, estimated to take 6-7 hours. This involves crossing Mackinnon Pass and passing by several waterfalls, with a chance to get up close to Sutherland Falls, the highest waterfall in New Zealand.

DAY4: From Dumpling Hut to Sandfly Point, an 18-kilometer hike, estimated to take 5.5-6 hours. The trail passes by Mackay Falls and the mysterious Bell Rock, finally arriving at Milford Sound.

【Precautions】
✅ Best Travel Season: The warmer months from late October to late April are ideal for hiking.

From May to October, the alpine huts only provide beds, and all food must be brought by the hikers.
✅ Book in Advance: Camping is not allowed on the Milford Track, and it is necessary to stay overnight at each of the three alpine huts along the way. It is recommended to book 3-6 months in advance.
✅ Prepare for Rainy Weather: The Milford Track is in one of the wettest regions of New Zealand.

Waterproof jackets, hiking boots, and rain covers for backpacks are essential.
✅ Bring Insect Repellent: Sandflies, common in the area, have painful bites. Be sure to bring insect repellent!
✅ Transportation Arrangements: Departing from Te Anau, you can choose to take a cruise or water taxi to the starting point, Glade Wharf.

After completing the hike, return from Sandfly Point by boat to Milford Sound.
