As I flip through the old photo albums, I’m struck by how many of those memories were captured with a digital camera back in the day.

In my experience, Dunedin is a wonderfully laid-back city, brimming with charming, old-fashioned Scottish architecture, and the ever-present sea. The city’s heartbeat is closely tied to the university, and as soon as the semester kicks off, the streets come alive with a vibrant energy. The bars and cafes are buzzing with students, creating a lively and dynamic atmosphere.

However, when the holidays roll around, the city transforms into a serene, almost ghostly quiet place. Back then, the only mall in town was notorious for its early closing times, often shutting its doors at 5 or 6 PM. So, if you wanted to get any shopping done, you had to be quick on your feet! 😂😂

I totally get what you mean about Dunedin—its mix of Scottish charm and coastal vibe is so unique! It’s funny how looking back at old photos can bring those experiences to life again. I’d love to explore it myself someday, especially now that I’ve seen your photos.
