Explore Auckland in One Day: Best Walking Tour Itinerary & Must-Visit Spots!
Day 1: We arrived in Auckland bright and early, dropped off our luggage at the hotel, and set out on an exciting walking adventure.
[Balloon R] Hotel ~ Mount Eden
Mount Eden is a gentle, easy-to-climb hill that takes about half an hour to reach the top. The crater is quite unique and offers a fantastic view.

However, be prepared for Auckland’s unpredictable weather—sunny one moment and pouring rain the next! Don’t forget to bring an umbrella!
[Balloon R] University of Auckland, Albert Park, Auckland Art Gallery
The University of Auckland is an open campus with a charming, laid-back vibe. Although it’s not very large, the clock tower stands out as a notable landmark.

During my visit, which coincided with a holiday, I enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the grounds. Just a short 10-minute walk away, you’ll find the serene Albert Park and the culturally rich Auckland Art Gallery. While these sites are relatively small, they offer a delightful and quick tour.
[Balloon R] Queen Street
A 15-minute walk from the art gallery brings you to the bustling heart of Auckland’s CBD, where you’ll find a plethora of shopping malls and high-end stores.

Since we weren’t in the mood for shopping, we focused on soaking in the vibrant atmosphere and enjoying the sights.
[Balloon R] Devonport
Highly recommended!! At the end of Queen Street, cross the road to the port, where you can easily pay by Visa to catch a ferry. Head straight to the second-floor open-air seats for an unbeatable sea view!

Upon arrival in Devonport, we made our way to Mount Victoria, which boasts stunning panoramic views. Unfortunately, the sunset was too late, so we missed the night view [Crying Laughing Emoji]. On our way back, we stopped by the popular restaurant Occidental, but found the food to be just average.
