Explore Dunedin: Missed Tunnel Beach but Discovered Stunning Coastal Views

Due to the rain yesterday, I checked the real-time conditions at Tunnel Beach on Little Red Book. The reports were clear: an hour-long walk with muddy shoes was not a tempting prospect, so I decided to skip it. However, the navigation revealed that Blackhead Surfing Beach was right next to Tunnel Beach.

Since we were driving from Dunedin to Queenstown today, it was conveniently on our route, and we decided to take a detour. To our delight, the weather cooperated with a bit of sunshine, and the sea was breathtakingly beautiful. We even had the chance to meet two kids who were heading out to surf. Their enthusiasm for catching waves on such a chilly day was truly impressive 😅.

It was a fantastic experience to finally see the South Pacific in all its glory.
