Three Must-Visit Beaches in Dunedin

Tunnel Beach: This hidden gem is a bit of an adventure! Currently, the tunnel is closed, so you’ll need to climb over. I even had the chance to meet and greet the local farmer, who was quite friendly and guided me over

Sandfly Bay: Get up close and personal with the majestic sea lions
! If you’re lucky, you might spot some penguins
at night, but be warned—sandflies can be a nuisance. I didn’t stick around too long, as I wasn’t keen on becoming their next meal

Katiki Point Lighthouse: Prepare to be charmed by the adorable sea lions and seals
. For your safety and theirs, it’s best to observe from a distance. The wind here is incredibly strong, and I was genuinely worried about being blown away…
Just a short ten-minute drive away, you’ll find a seafood lover’s paradise with mouthwatering lobster
This place, known as The Fishwife, is only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

The fried cod is also a must-try, but I recommend ordering half a portion of fries ( Address: The Fishwife)

I’ve always wanted to visit Tunnel Beach! The hike sounds exciting, and meeting the local farmer adds a nice touch. Sandfly Bay also sounds incredible, though I’d definitely need to stock up on bug spray for that part.
