Exploring In-Demand Jobs in New Zealand: Latest Additions and Career Insights
A friend recently inquired about the occupations on New Zealand’s Green List, so I put together a comprehensive guide to help them out.

The Green List is a carefully curated list of high-demand occupations in New Zealand, divided into two tiers: Tier 1 and Tier 2.

🟢 **Tier 1** is ideal for individuals looking to apply directly from their home country. If your profession is listed and you meet all the other criteria, you can submit your application right away. However, it’s important to note that medical-related professions require a registration certificate, which can be quite challenging to obtain if you haven’t studied in New Zealand.

🟢 **Tier 2** is not suitable for those applying from abroad.
– The main occupations in Tier 2 are skilled trades such as electricians and plumbers, where language proficiency is a significant barrier.
– To qualify, you must work for a New Zealand employer for at least two years, with an hourly wage of at least NZD 31.61.
– Additionally, you need to acquire a local qualification in New Zealand.

If your occupation is on the Green List, you also need to meet the following requirements:
1️⃣ **Age**: You must be under 55 years old.
2️⃣ **Language**: You need to achieve an IELTS score of 6.5.
3️⃣ **Health and Character**: You must meet the health standards for residence and have a clean character, including no criminal record.

4️⃣ **Employer Accreditation**: Your employer must be accredited by Immigration New Zealand, and the job must be full-time with a contract of at least 12 months or permanent. The salary must also meet the median wage requirement.
