My Unforgettable 9-Day New Zealand Tour Experience for Just $19,000
Originally, I hadn’t intended to highlight this 9-day, 8-night small group tour for six people, priced at around 19,000 RMB per person. Compared to tours costing about 13,000 or 14,000 RMB, it’s not exactly a budget option. However, after seeing many friends share their experiences with similar itineraries that cost nearly 30,000 RMB, I felt compelled to share! After all, every penny counts, and this tour offers incredible value.
1⃣ Group Tour
For my New Zealand adventure, I craved a stress-free experience and didn’t want the hassle of planning everything myself. After scouring various platforms and comparing several options, I settled on a local, boutique small group tour in New Zealand. I also verified the travel agency’s credentials, and everything checked out. Initially, I was wary of potential shopping traps, but my experience proved these concerns were completely unfounded.

Before departure, all necessary precautions were clearly explained. During the trip, our driver-guide accompanied us throughout, ensuring language was never an issue. Most importantly, the driver-guide was incredibly reliable and enthusiastic!
Upon arriving in New Zealand, our flight was delayed, but the driver-guide patiently waited for us at the airport. When we finally met, he warmly helped with our luggage, greeted us with a smile, and provided exceptional service from the start! Throughout the journey, he constantly found picturesque spots for us to take photos, offered tips on posing, and shared fascinating stories about New Zealand.
3⃣ Dressing Tips
1. Don’t forget to bring a windproof and waterproof jacket! New Zealand’s weather can be unpredictable, especially in mountainous and coastal areas, where it can get very cold when it’s windy and rainy.
2. If you plan to visit glaciers or high-altitude areas, make sure to pack warm clothing.
3. Choose comfortable hiking shoes or sneakers, as New Zealand is full of natural attractions, and you’ll be doing a lot of walking.
4⃣ Group Tour Experience
Throughout our entire journey, we didn’t face any of the common issues often mentioned online, such as arbitrary charges or forced shopping. We followed the central route of the South Island, and over nine days, we explored most of the popular attractions, including Christchurch, Kaikoura, Tekapo, Mount Cook, Wanaka, Te Anau, Milford Sound, and Queenstown.
Our driver-guide was incredibly responsible and enthusiastic. When we purchased local specialties, he even helped us haggle for better prices. I found the itinerary to be well-organized, with about two days of free time in Queenstown, making the trip very relaxing and far from a rushed, military-style tour.
The accommodations were also excellent, all 4-star hotels or charming homestay resorts.
By the way, if you prefer a very quiet environment, you might want to be a bit mindful, as our driver-guide was quite the chatterbox, and the car was never silent, hahaha.
