π African Humanistic Notes: Discovering Beauty in Every Human Encounter Abroad
β¨Travel is about meeting peopleπ¦πΏπ§πΎβπ¦±π§π½
Being surrounded by local elementary school students for a selfie at the museum, racing barefoot children in a Maasai village, and listening to the guide share life stories in the carβthese vivid encounters give this land its warmth.
1οΈβ£ Museum Adventure Β· Dare to Take a Selfie with a Python?

ππππππ
ππ» Highly recommended!! After all, it’s the birthplace of humanity, and it’s worth spending 2 hours visiting. Many local children come for classes, and their bright, curious eyes staring at the fossils are so heartwarming!

πThe staff at Snake Park are super enthusiastic and will “kindly” drape a python around your neck (cool like a HermΓ¨s belt?), and a chameleon might even crawl onto your hand to pose βπ»
2οΈβ£ Magical Reality in the Maasai Village Β· Fire-Making with an Apple Watch πππ
A “commercial but authentic” African tribal experience:
βοΈ Men perform fire-making (but they’re wearing Apple Watches π though probably made in Huaqiangbei)
βοΈ Stone house experience (it’s hard to imagine that people still live in such houses)
βοΈ Barefoot children crazily grabbing candy π¬ (the large bag of lollipops we brought was snatched up in 3 seconds!

There wasn’t enough to go around π£ Suggest bringing more candy, and if possible, some old clothes/stationery, as they really need them)
π‘Tips to avoid pitfalls: You can haggle for tickets, and souvenirs are more expensive than outside (but buying in the Maasai village is more about the charitable mindset)

ποΈ Life Philosophy from Shopping
The “souvenir” you haggled for half a day at the service area turns out to be much cheaper at the hotel shopβdoesn’t this remind us of how we always chase after distant things, yet overlook the beauty around us?
β οΈ Remember this price formula: Nairobi < Hotel shops (after comparing, the hotel shop at OI Tukai Lodge Amboseli was the cheapest) < City malls (like Buffalo Mall in Naivasha) < Service area rip-offs (a painful shopping lesson: never, ever buy from service areas!

)

πOOTD Ruin Aesthetics
π© Hats: @GUCCI bucket hat, @EMIS cap (for sun and sand protection)
π Bags: @Prada black three-in-one & small brown AimΓ©e (choose something durable and not easily dirtied, as it will get dusty every day; don’t bring expensive bags)
π @Buccellati necklace, @chanel 24p enamel earrings + sweater chain, @GENTLE MONSTER sunglasses
π§₯ Jackets: @TheNorthFace windbreaker, @marithe leather jacket
π Suggest using a Maillard color palette for Taobao outfits to dominate your social media (I bought a bunch for under 200 RMB each a week before departure, as they’ll get dusty and can be thrown away without regret)

(I really miss that sunset when I watched lions and drank DAWA π¦)
