Best Things to Do in Tokyo Japan: Unforgettable Travel Memories & Must-See Attractions
The moment I jotted down the date, it struck me how distant it felt—already five whole months had slipped through my fingers. Time had flown by faster than I ever anticipated.

During my stay in Sendai, I miraculously timed my visit to coincide with L’s birthday. We celebrated at a breathtaking restaurant overlooking Tokyo Tower, but not before embarking on a wild goose chase through Ginza’s electronics stores, desperately hunting for an iPhone only to discover every store required reservations.

That evening, we dined amidst Tokyo’s glittering skyline at a high-altitude restaurant, snapping countless photos while begrudgingly tolerating the surprisingly mediocre food… Afterwards, we set off for Roppongi’s famous Christmas illuminations—only for my navigation skills to spectacularly fail me yet again.

Ever since arriving from Sendai, I’d been mysteriously cursed with wrong turns, each misadventure growing increasingly comical. True to form, I led us astray en route to Roppongi, leaving me fuming on the sidewalk when we finally realized our mistake. Ironically, the Tokyo Tower views we stumbled upon during our detour outshone the actual destination.

After ticking off our checklist, we dashed to catch the Shinkansen back to Sendai, with Tokyo’s labyrinthine subway system nearly breaking my sanity along the way.

Our penultimate day plunged us into the electric chaos of Disneyland’s crowds, while our final day whisked us through Shibuya’s scramble crossing and Akihabara’s idol-filled streets. Each day overflowed with nonstop adventure as we tirelessly crisscrossed Tokyo’s urban jungle. The whirlwind pace left no room for shrine visits—I’d dreamed of collecting goshuin stamps and unique souvenirs, but perhaps these unfinished dreams are blessings in disguise.

After all, they’re the perfect excuse to return to Japan’s magic sooner rather than later!
