In Hanoi, I stumbled upon a hidden gem of a seafood spot, thanks to a frequent traveler on Xiaohongshu who visits Hanoi every quarter. Her glowing recommendation made my choice a no-brainer!

This local favorite is a bit off the beaten path from the old town, so you’ll need to hop on a Grab to get there. The restaurant, named Oc to Sai Gon, is bustling with locals, filling all four floors to the brim.

The storefront is impressively large, spanning four shops with a Mixue Bingcheng sandwiched in between, creating a lively and inviting atmosphere.

Every dish we ordered was a delightful surprise, with a rich variety of fresh seafood and an array of flavors to choose from. Some must-try dishes include the succulent grilled scallops with egg, juicy grilled large prawns, clams stir-fried with a creamy mayonnaise, crispy fried rice noodles, swan eggs (baked with a zesty black pepper filling), and a comforting clam soup infused with lemongrass, reminiscent of a Tom Yum.

Upon sitting down, the restaurant provides a large plate for sauces, which doubles as a convenient place to set your dishes and discard shells. Don’t forget to order a small baguette 🥖—it pairs perfectly with the mayonnaise and adds a satisfying crunch to your meal.
