The most enchanting spot to explore in Hanoi is undoubtedly the 36 ancient streets. At night, these streets come alive with a vibrant energy, bustling with a diverse crowd of international visitors. Even someone 174 cm tall like me feels petite amidst the throngs of stylish and elegant people. As the sun sets, the area transforms into a lively hub of bars, where enthusiastic Vietnamese staff eagerly promote their establishments.

The prices are quite reasonable; ordering a couple of beers , sitting back, and soaking up the electric atmosphere is an absolute delight! On this bustling bar street, you can choose any venue, and the vibe is always fantastic, with a predominantly foreign clientele.

During the day, the streets are dotted with charming coffee shops. I tried several, but found the egg coffee too sweet and the black coffee excessively bitter; neither really hit the spot for me. However, finding a quaint little shop for a photo session is a must—it’s incredibly picturesque! The baguette sandwiches are a true highlight; I randomly picked two spots, and both served delicious sandwiches for just 50,000 VND.

Shopping options are limited, but there are some stores offering high-quality imitation bags, comfy slippers, and small, unique decorations. A few art shops also add a touch of sophistication to the area. It’s worth noting that next month, the temperature is expected to soar to 40 degrees, so visiting now is perfect timing!
